This union brings together Q4’s capability in project management, communications and low-voltage systems with Gordon McKay’s recognised expertise in high-voltage, instrumentation, hazardous-area works and complex industrial construction. 

By joining forces, we offer clients a true one-stop-shop, reducing the number of subcontractors required, improving coordination and enabling efficient project delivery at scale.

This partnership enables Q4 to support structured, high-quality training pathways, ensuring apprentices gain hands-on experience across real project environments under experienced supervision.

By working closely with Yanda, we are investing in the next generation of skilled electrical and communications technicians. Yanda’s trusted training framework and workforce support align with Q4’s commitment to safety, technical excellence and career progression. Together, we provide apprentices with exposure to major infrastructure works, emerging technologies and best-practice installation standards.

This collaboration helps Q4 scale sustainably while maintaining consistent quality across multiple project sites. More importantly, it supports a strong pipeline of talent, ensuring our teams, and the broader industry, continue to grow with well-trained, future-ready professionals.

Q4 Power Distribution was established to meet a clear gap in the market: the need for a scalable, high-quality, end-to-end solution for large main switchboards in data centres and critical infrastructure projects. To deliver this capability, Q4 brought together the best-of-breed switchboard manufacturers in Victoria to form a specialised joint venture with unmatched depth and expertise.

With centralised Rittal Partnership Certification, all joint venture partners manufacture switchboards to identical specifications, ensuring consistency, quality and the ability to deliver large-volume orders within critical timeframes suited to hyperscale and enterprise data centres.

Q4 also provides full EBA-aligned labour for onsite delivery, installation and connection, offering clients a true one-stop-shop for switchboard procurement and project execution.

This model is unique within the market and has been purpose-built to ensure major infrastructure projects meet demanding deadlines without compromising on capability, reliability or compliance.

Q4 is committed to fostering meaningful, long-term partnerships with Indigenous businesses across Victoria. Our goal is not simply to meet minimum procurement requirements, but to create genuine economic participation, skills development and growth opportunities within the Indigenous supply chain. Across our projects, Q4 aims to allocate 30–60% of total spend to local Indigenous suppliers, ensuring real value flows back to community-owned businesses.

Within the specialist electrical and communications sector, Q4 is proud to partner with Karnarji and Middy’s Indigenous Supply for electrical materials, data products and project consumables. These partnerships strengthen both capability and capacity across all stages of project delivery.

Beyond technical procurement, Q4 also collaborates with A2B Group for uniforms and workwear, and Kulbardi for office supplies and administrative support.
