Turnkey Solution
AT A GLANCE
Q4 Power Distribution is a specialised division of Q4, delivering mission-critical switchboard solutions for Australia’s data-centre sector. Combining engineering, manufacturing and supply-chain expertise.

Q4 delivers reliable outcomes for complex, high-capacity projects with demanding timelines and zero-tolerance failure points. The division was formed to address a clear market need: supplying high-volume main switchboards within compressed timeframes and with minimal risk.

The joint venture brings together SRS Power, Aline Group, Bentrol and Q4 Power Distribution. Combined, the group represents 350 staff and $345 million in revenue, bringing together significant Australian engineering, manufacturing and delivery capability.

OUR PARTNERS
Joint Venture Partners

The joint venture between Q4 and the following partners has been born from an identified gap in the sector to supply high volume, medium voltage, main switchboards in compressed timeframes with minimal risk.

Pre-Fabrication

One standard, many builders, built off-site.

Every board is pre-fabricated in the factory to a single non-proprietary Siemens standard, so appearance, layout and functionality stay consistent regardless of which JV manufacturer builds it. This multi-manufacturer production model lets large programs be distributed across the JV without stretching labour or blowing out delivery times, while off-site assembly removes work from the critical path and reduces on-site risk and time.

AUSTRALIAN MADE

Backing Australian Manufacturing

Q4 is committed to Australian manufacturing and local supply, keeping capability, jobs and quality control here in Australia. This commitment runs through our Q4 Power Distribution capability, where switchboards and assemblies are manufactured locally. By sourcing and building domestically, we deliver equipment our clients can trust — with the traceability and accountability that local manufacture provides.

Site Installation

Built and installation expertise

Unlike other switchboard manufacturers, Q4 are a fully fledged EBA business, so we can supply the fully design, build and install solution. We design the boards so that they are easy to install and maintain and so that they can be installed by the Q4 team across any industrial landscape throughout Australia. The benefits that this unique service provides the client include:

  • Specific switchboard-expertise skilled staff
  • Reduction in multiple contractors’ responsibility for the equipment
  • Protection of warranty of the product
  • Full accountability by the Q4 team
  • Reduction in project management and commissioning time and cost

Free Issue Equipment Installation

Expert care and installation of other critical equipment

With extensive experience and specific training from most OEM electrical component suppliers, Q4 offer a fully warranted “Free Issue Equipment” installation service to the end client. Providing the critical onsite link between the overseas manufacturers and onsite installation, Q4 work closely with the end client and OEM manufacturer to take responsibility for the installation of overseas-procured assets including:

  • Review and management of compliance to Australian Standards
  • Ease with industrial relations issues
  • Installation of the assets in protecting company warranties
  • Commissioning and testing

Testing & Commissioning

The Independent Commissioning Agent

More than the standard Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Q4 offer the client the highest level of verification and functional testing before all switchboard assets leave the factory. We then provide full, rigorous onsite level 3–5 commissioning and testing to ensure the assets are failsafe and secure. Our onsite teams complete all commissioning using quality calibrated digital testing and recording equipment for testing validation. The Q4 testing and commissioning process provides considerable benefits, including:

  • ISO 9001 certified systems for testing and commissioning
  • A scientific and clinical approach to all testing procedures
  • Recording and validation of test results
  • A practical approach to compliance issues

Manufacturing

Shared capacity, single standard, serious scale.

The JV draws on a 190+ workforce across four Victorian plants, enabling rapid scaling, workload balancing and resource sharing so no project stalls waiting on a single line. Every board is built on the Siemens SIVACON platform with SENTRON 3WA breakers, assembled from Australian BlueScope steel to the highest Australian standards. Backed by the JV’s combined 350 staff and $345m revenue, this model delivers rapid, consistent and repeatable output for stage-based data-centre programs where volume reliability matters.
